WELCOME TO SHERRY'S STUDIO!

I teach students from all ages, mostly from intermediate to advanced level. I have experiences preparing students for competitions, assessment exams and any professional performances. My classes are designed accordingly to student's needs, including theory, solid technique and music appreciation.

STUDIO POLICY

Teaching Philosophy

As a pianist and piano teacher, my goal has always been helping my students to improve their piano skills and deepen their knowledge of music. I hope they can enjoy the beauty of music and even bring joys to everyone! I believe that every student has something that they can bring out through music, and my job is to help and support them as much as I can.

LESSONS

Private lessons are given in 30, 45, and 60 minutes. Students could make the decision about the lesson length based on teacher’s suggestion. Private lessons focus not only on piano techniques to build solid foundation, but also musicianship and creativity to enjoy joy and love in the music.

PRACTICE

Regular home practice is required for student’s improvement and success.

Short, daily practice sessions are more effective than one or two long sessions per week. It helps students to solidify skills, cultivate patience, and most importantly, enhance the ability of physical and mental control.

*Parental involvement in home practice is also essential for student success.

If you are the parent of an elementary age student, please help your child to establish a practice routine!

ATTENDANCE

Students are expected to attend each scheduled week of the semester. If a lesson needs to be rescheduled or cancelled, please inform Sherry at least a week before the lesson.
Please be prompt at the lesson so that we don’t interfere with other student’s lesson times.
*Missed lesson due to emergency or illness by the teacher will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

TUITION & PAYMENT SCHEDULE

Tuition is due at the first lesson of each month. If you enroll in the middle of a month, tuition will be prorated. All performance fee and tuition is non-refundable.
